Q&A with Babylyn Briones

Babylyn Briones is AIRAH’s new Accreditation Officer and Registrar, having started with the Institute in April. Ecolibrium got to know Babylyn, whose work focuses primarily on the AIRAH Professional Engineer Register (APER).
Ecolibrium: Could you tell us a bit about your professional background and experience?
Babylyn Briones: I have four years of experience in sales, engineering, and project management within the HVAC&R industry, followed by additional experience in the micro-electronics sector, specialising in automotive products.
I began my career as a junior mechanical engineer at an HVAC&R equipment distributor and quickly advanced to a sales manager role, where I led my team in achieving key sales targets. To further strengthen my project management expertise, I transitioned into a project engineer/officer role in the micro-electronics industry, enhancing my strategic planning and execution skills.
What I value most about my journey is the opportunity to mentor and support my subordinates, acting as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders to drive project success. I am passionate about strategic planning and execution, continuously striving to deliver results that contribute to the growth and success of the company.
What does your role with AIRAH involve?
As the Accreditation Officer and AIRAH Registrar, I am responsible for overseeing the high-level administration and coordination of the AIRAH Professional Engineer Register (APER) accreditation scheme.
My role ensures the delivery of excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, supporting a smooth and efficient accreditation process.


What are you most looking forward to in this new role?
I’m excited to collaborate with the AIRAH team and committees to streamline operations and continuously improve systems that drive positive outcomes for the company. Additionally, I look forward to engaging with applicants, ensuring a smooth and efficient accreditation experience.
With my years of experience in strategic planning and collaboration, I am eager to contribute meaningfully to this role and support the ongoing success of the APER accreditation scheme.
